Johanna Pellinen, Founding Partner and CEO
Over the years, Vuolearning has successfully established itself as an agile and pragmatic solution for organisations that want a well-functioning and easy to use platform for their courses. But what has been the reason behind this success? Johanna Pellinen, the Founding Partner and CEO of Vuolearning, answers, “Over the years, we have cocreated new solutions and improved the platform design with our customers to make their lives easier.” For instance, in lieu of trends such as e-learning, mobile learning, and BYOD, the company was born from the need to provide flexible and mobile-friendly content creation tools. “We still run a weekly product development meeting to discuss clients’ feedback and opportunities to help them more efficiently,” informs Johanna.
At its core, the Vuolearning platform has made it easy for clients to go online with their own courses. The ease of use has made it possible for many organisations to distribute the responsibility over the courses in the departments that need training and for the specialists with the best knowledge on the topic. Thanks to the intuitive user interface, the solution has been adopted fluently in organisations with little previous experience with digital tools. “Now our users vary from product specialists and managers to nurses, mechanics, sales personnel, and consultants,” states Johanna. The platform enables clients to keep an up-to-date register on course accomplishments, send reminders of expiring accomplishments, and set course deadlines or design learning paths.
This way, the solution supports systematic competence development and provides data on the implementation of courses. Further, the Vuolearning platform enables clients to create new content from scratch or convert pre-existing material, such as PowerPoint, PDF, or a Word document, as a basis of a course. It provides tools to embed video, audio, assignments or external tools into the course and textbased content.
The Vuolearning platform offers a real-time register on course accomplishments by visualising data on course accomplishments and behaviour. It enables expirations and reminders for the courses that are to be taken regularly. “With the help of learning paths, a training program can be set and scheduled automatically,” adds Johanna. The platform integrates with clients’ existing tools, such as Office 365, to automate user management and combine logins with pre-existing accounts. With dynamic user management, the courses can automatically be assigned to the right users based on their background information integrated from Office 365 or other systems. One of Vuolearning’s powerful tools has been used to convert pre-existing materials, such as PDFs and PowerPoints, to the platform. With the help of this feature, clients can benefit from their own materials and start the course creation process by converting their PowerPoint into an online course draft and then editing and enriching that with images, video and assignments. Further, Vuolearning also provides onboarding training and fast support for its clients. “With us, they can rely on receiving the help they need to succeed with their courses,” says Johanna.
Over the years, Vuolearning has assisted companies such as Berner, Vahanen Group, Code of Conduct and many others in attaining their desired level of outcomes. What has propelled the company is the ease of use and fast content production that they have provided from the very beginning. “We want to make implementation of e-learning as easy and efficient as possible, and save time and resources from our clients. Therefore, we have focused on great usability, automating processes like user management and scheduling, and provide integrations to a number of other systems,” concludes Johanna.
